It's Grade Report Time

We celebrated another outstanding set of written reports today. This time our 6th formers (Year 12 & Year 13) met and received their reports in person from Dr Steffen Sommer our Principal.

These students all achieved 3 or more A and A*s in their recent reports as well as excellent effort grades. This explained Mrs Gammon Head of Year 13, "is an incredible achievement and a reflection of our students' continued hard work."

We met up with 4 students to find out more. From our Year 13 group we meet with Haya Muftah, a Qatari student who looks forward to her career in Civil Engineering. Haya is currently studying Geography, Physics and Maths and has already received offers from Imperial College University and UCL in London.

Another long term Qatar national is Haaris Ahmed is studying Physics, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Chemistry he is looking to study in Canada. He said, "I want to be a mechanical engineer and I am looking at Waterloo University in Canada as my first choice."

Gowri Menon, a year 12 is a true Third Culture child after living in Australia, Dubai and Qatar. Gowri is studying Chemistry, Biology, Maths and English Literature and is keen to pursue a career in medicine. She explained' "I love medicine and was lucky enough to win the Medical Review Schools Conference last month which reaffirmed my chosen career choice."

Lastly, we meet with Ralf Yap from Year 12 who is passionate about learning new things. Ralf is studying Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics and English Language at AS level and hopes to apply to Cambridge to study Computer Science.

Miss Eleanor Thompson Head of Year 12 was equally complimentary of the students' efforts. "The passion for learning is very evident among our Year 12s, there is a great camaraderie throughout the whole year."
