Reports reward 6th Form efforts

"This is an important year for all our students, hard work and organisation are very important as they prepare for their examinations."

El Thomson, Head of Year 13

A group of our 6th Form students had cause to celebrate today when they received their grade reports. Not only have they shown excellent effort but the target and predicted grades for their imminent AS and A Levels were outstanding.

We spoke to a few students to find out more:

Nadia Bahemia is in her final year at Doha College and is also Deputy Head Girl, Nadia is very busy taking 5 A levels in Biology, Chemistry, Economics, Mathematics and French and impressively is on target to achieved 4A* and 1A. It's no surprise that her effort grades are all excellent! Nadia is planning to study Neuroscience and has offers from Warwick and Kings College London.

Also in his final year is George Daley, who is taking Geography, Mathematics and Physics at A Level with predicted 2A* and A grades and more importantly excellent effort grades. George has been at Doha College since Year 7 and is a keen sportsman combining rugby and swimming with his studies. He is busy looking at engineering courses within Bath University in the UK for the next step in his education.

Head of Year 13, El Thomson was delighted with her students' reports and commented, "this is an important year for all our students, hard work and organisation are very important as they prepare for their examinations."

Our Year 12 students have just started their A level journeys, Francesca is another student taking 5 A levels in Art, History, Mathematics, Physics and Spanish and is passionate about studying Architecture as it combines her love of the Arts and Science. When it comes to revision Francesca likes to keep on top of her work each week ensuring she is always up-to-date with notes, reading and homework – advice that seems to work as she is achieving excellent effort grades in all subjects and is on target to complete with 5 A grades.

Clayton also from Year 12 wants to study computer science at university and is taking Computer Science, Mathematics, Further Mathematics and Physics for A-level. "We use computers every day, explains Clayton, and I love coding and creating programmes and applications, my favourite coding language is C#."

"My students have made a great start to their Year 12 studies" explains Head of Year 12 Naomi Capewell, "I am sure they will continue to show excellent effort and this should be rewarded with the grades they deserve."
