Shining stars from Year 9 close the year

Students from Year 9 were recognised today by the Principal, Dr Steffen Sommer for the excellent effort they have shown across all their subjects.

As Head of Year 9, Mrs Tina Jackson explained. "It never ceases to amaze me how committed and driven these Year 9 students are; they are a shining example to the rest of their year group."

Australian Maia Craig was awarded 13 Excellent effort grades by her teachers in all subjects. A keen linguist, Maia's favourite subject is Spanish, and she hopes one day to visit Spain and try out her growing language skills.

Another student who achieved 13 Excellent effort grades was Nina Nair. As Nina explained. "I love science and really enjoy the experiments and dissections, but you have to know what you are doing; if I don't understand I make sure to ask the teachers or my friends, and always try my best."

Mustafa Al-Janabi achieved 10 Excellent and 3 Very Goods. "I treat teachers like my friends" Mustafa explained, "I want to do my best for them, to make them proud of me." Mustafa enjoys using technology and his favourite subject is ICT, especially computer coding.

For one student this moment will be definitely be remembered, Rohan Gupta is passionate about history and adores his teacher, who he says makes history exciting and come alive. Rohan achieved 11 Excellent grades and 2 Very Goods, of course, his History grade was excellent.
