International boxing sensation Amir Khan inspired and electrified the crowd of 150 students who took the opportunity to hear him speak during a visit to the school on Thursday, 22 October.
Mr Khan, the current holder of the WBC silver welterweight belt, spent an hour at the Al Waab campus meeting the students from Years 7 to 13.
During a 10 minute talk to the students, he encouraged them to focus on their education and to work hard to achieve their dreams.
Year 10 student, Taha, described Khan as "calm, relaxed and down to earth" while Faizaan, Year 9, said he could "persuade people to be more than they can be".
Students also asked questions about his training regime, his career and his work with the Amir Khan Foundation, which is partnered with Penny Appeal to build a community complex for orphans in The Gambia, West Africa.
The highly successful event was capped off by photos (lots of selfies!) with students and staff and the chance for autographs.
Principal Dr Steffen Sommer said he was pleased with the motivational message to the students, many of whom were fans.
"Amir is an excellent role model for our students," Dr Sommer said.
"His dedication to sport and charity work with children is an inspiration especially as Doha College is also committed to supporting and unlocking the potential of youth."
