Qatar Primary School Choir of the Year 2017 Final!
Huge congratulations to the following choirs for reaching the final of QPSCoY 2017:
- Doha English Speaking School
- Doha College ‘Fortes’
- Doha College ‘Prestos’
- International School of London
- Newton British School
- Park House English School
The Final will be judged by a panel of Independent Adjudicators, headed by Youth Choral Expert, Greg Beardsell. Further information on Greg’s experience is available at gregbeardsell.com.
Also joining Greg, will be local choral personality, Alena Pyne, Director of the ‘Doha Youth Choir’ and ‘Doha Junior Choir’, and Kees Wierenga, Kees is a pianist and composer of International reputation. His extensive discography highlights composers from his homeland, The Netherlands. Kees has a diverse background and also has experience as a broadcaster and museum director. His current post is that of Director of the Sheikh Faisal Museum.
All competitors are required to perform the specially composed work by QPSCoY Ambassador, Dana Al Fardan, ‘Wings of the Falcon’
We look forward to welcoming all choirs and competitors’ friends and families to the Final. This is to be held in the ballroom of Shangri-La, Doha on Monday 15th May at 17:30. Audience will be admitted from 16:30. The evening is expected to conclude at approximately 19:30.
Entry to the ballroom is by ticket only. Tickets cost QR50 and are available to purchase via your school. Please note that, due to the limited capacity of the ballroom, and the fact we have x6 choirs competing, only x50 tickets are currently available per school. Apologies for any inconvenience this may cause.
We encourage audience to self park in Shangri-La, Doha’s car park. The entrance is to the right before the main drop off area.
Shangri-La are kindly offering our audience 20% off meals in any of their restaurants on the evening of the competition. If you would like to take advantage of our 20% discount please show your ticket when asking for the bill.
