Rules and Regulations

  1. The deadline for entries is 30 November 2017. All entries and presentations must be made in English.
  2. Once an entry is made, schools have made a commitment to attend the conference with their teams for the entire day, no matter the outcome of the first round.
  3. Places at the conference are numbered and the event is catered for gratis. If a school fails to attend they will be directly impacting on the success of the day and Doha College will pass on any costs incurred. Inclusion to any future conference will be forfeited.
  4. The deadline for withdrawal is 4 January 2018.
  5. A school may enter one student team per topic area. There are five topic areas, therefore a maximum of five teams can be entered per school.
  6. Presentations must be no longer than 10 minutes.
  7. The conference can accommodate 6 teams per topic area. If too many schools register for a place, then entries will be equally shared amongst the interested schools.
  8. A single team may have no more than three students presenting.
  9. An individual student may present in one team only.
  10. If 1-2 teams, one member of accompanying staff is required, if 3 or more teams then two members of staff.
  11. Each staff member that attends will be a judge for the morning round of presentations. Biology or science specialists would be an advantage.

All rooms will have whiteboard, projector and desktop computer. Our IT system can accommodate PowerPoint or Prezi presentations only, teams will be requested to submit their presentations before the event and they will not be able to be changed during the course of the day.
  13. The aim of this conference is to celebrate students’ own work. Teachers are requested not to intensively coach individual or groups of students.
  14. Parents and peers are welcome to attend the conference as part of the audience. They will need ID to sign in at Doha College entrances with Security.
  15. Formal attire should be worn by all presenters.
  16. Every student will receive a certificate outlining their involvement in the conference.
